Edoras in watercolor

Image
The black tower seems better in black, but I guess Edoras should look kinda golden, huh? This one was done with watercolor and ecolines. The place looked nicer live, there in Canterbury, but we had no palace back there

I promise I did draw yesterday ...

Image
... but had no time to scan the sketches yet. Maybe tomorrow I can post something really new here. Today, we are stuck with an old HP page from The Prisoner of Azkaban that I even dared to color with Photoshop :P I've got a bunch of these pages, if anyone wants more here, just drop a message :)

Ecolines and the world of tomorrow

Image
Have I told you already how much I like Ecolines? This is a frame from Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (a film I'm particularly fond of despite Paltrow's presence) that I did with them a while ago! I'll try to bring something new along the week :)

Visby, land of peaceful vikings ...

Image
... and holiday island for most swedish. Visby, in Gotland, has an excellent state of preservation, with lots of amazing churches and medieval buildings. It seems that people in Visby tended to open the doors to invaders, so they did not have the urge to conquer and destroy. Sort of like Ankh Morpork :D The symbol of the city is a lamb, so go guess...

And now that we are at it ...

This is an all original tablet skecth of lake Pukaku in New Zealand. Not that good yet, but I'm trying ... :)

Go, tablet, go!

Image
After almost one year of having a tablet, I've finally discovered that there is funny stuff you can do with it, work apart. This is a quick sketch I did yesterday while playing PS2 with my sister. It did not took long, as I was watching the Resident Evil IV cover over the table and needed no further reference - My sis just had time to play two songs in Guitar Hero :D

A quick sketch I did in a coffee shop ...

Image
... before the movies were released. This is a Harry Potter drawing of Hermione NOT playing quidditch that I did in one minute. I liked it, though, so I decided to go Photoshop later :)

Times square

Image
This one inked and colored with ecolines. I'm not very good with inks, but I try :P

New York, New Yooooork

Image
These are a couple of sketches I did in the Big Apple back in 2003. I also took pictures, but this is actually a better souvenir :)

An experiment in coloring

Image
This is a test using Oli's tutorial on finger painting using Photoshop. My first try is not that good, but it's something, anyway. And the tutorial is amazing!

My treassssureee ...

Image
Ok, so this is a watercolor skecth of Gollum I did back after the release of TTT. I like the colors in general, they are so ... watery :P

And more New Zealand

Image
This is Fox Glacier, in the South Island, close to Milford Sound. It has an amazing ice cave, but it could not be visited without crampoons :( Franz Josef glacier, a short drive away, might be better known and easier to reach by feet, but I prefer Fox. Too bad NZ is so far from Spain, it's the best place to spend the holidays!

This is New Zealand ...

Albert Park in Auckland, to be more precise. The clock belongs to the University of Auckland and the park is close to Victoria Street, a very nice place for a walk. And this is Tehenga beach, in Bethells valley, one hour away from Auckland. It might be better known for some of you because it appears again and again both in Xena and Hercules. It is supposed to be the local beach for kiwis, and, hence, quite packed in summer. From the mediterranean point of view, it could well be the most isolated place in Earth. And finally, Mt Cook, where Sir Mallory trained to climb the Everest and Gandalf fought the Balrog. Very nice place and it seems to have a face too! From the maori point of view, I think it was supposed to be the top of the canoe that Maui used to fish the north island out of the sea. I did all these sketches live, back in 2002, when I spent february at the Middle Earth :)

It's anime time!

Now that Xmas holidays are almost over and I've been lazying around all the time, I'm uploading a couple of old sketches from Bleach, from two characters that played the most amazing sword-less fight in shunpo time:
